This is an original, French eight panel movie poster from 1986 for The Name of the Rose starring Sean Connery, F. Murray Abraham, Feodor Chaliapin Jr., William Hickey, Michael Lonsdale, Ron Perlman, and Christian Slater. Jean-Jacques Annaud directed the medieval thriller. Philippe Druillet and Michel Gayout are the artists for the poster.
The billboard-style poster measures 118” x 156” (approximately 10 feet by 13 feet) and was printed in eight sections designed to overlap. It is in very good condition with a few pinholes along some of the edges from display and some faint, ink transfer on the left side from long term, folded storage.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not a stock image. The black squares around the edges of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1986 to promote the French theatrical release of The Name of the Rose, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
