Godfather (1972)

This is an original, linen-backed, insert theatrical movie poster from 1972 for The Godfather starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire and John Cazale. Francis Ford Coppola directed the Academy Award-winning film based on the book by Mario Puzo. S. Neil Fujita is the artist for the poster.

The poster was printed in the United States for use in theaters outside the country.  It has no MPAA rating box and has a foreign stamp on the bottom right corner from thearical use.  The poster measures 14" x 36" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display.  It was in very good condition prior to backing with a few, light smudges on parts of the black area of the poster. It was folded at the time of printing but the fold lines are less visible after backing.  The poster was backed in the European style without touchups or restoration.
