This is an original, linen-backed, one-sheet movie poster from 1939 for Each Dawn I Die starring James Cagney, George Raft, George Bancroft, Jane Bryan, Maxie 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom and Victor Jory. William Keighley directed the crime thriller based on a novel by Jerome Odlum.
The poster measures 27" x 41" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in good to very good condition prior to restoration with minor wear and tiny tears along parts of the edges and some tape placed on the back of the poster to repair the tears. It was folded at the time of printing and there was small paper loss at the middle and bottom cross-folds and some wear and slight separation along parts of the fold lines. The folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing. The poster is now in excellent, restored condition. It will be rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image.
This rare and extremely collectible poster, printed in 1939 to promote the initial, theatrical release of Each Dawn I Die, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
