This is an original Italian 2 Fogli movie poster from 1962 for Birdman of Alcatraz starring Burt Lancaster, Karl Malden, Thelma Ritter, Neville Brand, Edmond O'Brien and Telly Savalas. John Frankenheimer directed the prison drama based on the novel by Tom Gaddis. Renato Casaro is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 39” x 55” and is in very good condition. This poster, like nearly all Italian one panel movie posters, was folded before being shipped to theaters for display. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters. The poster has two tiny tears (one on a left fold-edge and one on an upper-right fold-edge).
